Our Archive

About our archive

Over the years, the Wye Historical Society, Wye College and Wye Heritage have amassed a unique collection of documents, photographs and artefacts relating to the history of Wye village and Wye College. We are grateful to the Wye Historical Society for their help in collating photographs for our displays and website.

This comprehensive archive is regularly used as a resource to create an impressive number of books, booklets, pamphlets and other projects covering many aspects of the history of this unique community.

Our displays

Each month we use the archive to create a new display, to tell stories of our fascinating history to as many people as possible.  You can find more about our displays here.

Over the coming months we will begin adding our displays and items from our archive to the website so that material is available as a resource to anyone, wherever they are in the world.

A living collection

We are continually adding material to our archive, often as generous gifts from individuals and organisatons with a direct connection to the village of Wye or Wye College.

We welcome gifts of documents, photographs and artefacts from anyone who wishes to help us grow our collection. Do get in touch if you have something you’d like to add.

Our new archive room

Our new Heritage Centre, which we hope will open in 2023/2024, will have a dedicated archive and research room to house the collection, allowing visitors and researchers to easily access information about the history of our village and Wye College.
